I extend my warm greetings to the people of Sikkim on the auspicious occasions of Bhumchu.
Bhumchu is one of the sacred and unique festivals of Sikkim. It is believed that when Guru Padmasambhava was invited to Tibet, he performed holy rituals and blessed the land with water from his sacred vase. The sacred vase too was later consecrated and is treasured in the holy Tashiding monastery, Sikkim.
Bhumchu represents our culture, ethos and prays for this festival to bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to the lives of the Sikkimese people.
